What is Terridata?

Terridata is a tool for consulting and sharing Colombia's territorial statistical information at the municipal, departmental, and regional levels, designed to strengthen knowledge management and improve access to public data.

The challenge

The application needed to display detailed geographic information and work even in areas with limited connectivity, allowing data to be downloaded for offline use. In addition, the DNP database was not available in a format suitable for direct consumption by the application.

The solution

For Terridata, Kubo developed an application and a data extraction and processing middleware layer that made it possible to:

Present all DNP statistical data in a simple, intuitive mobile application.
Conduct measurement processes and regional studies to adapt the product to different markets and local cultures.
Implement, for the first time in the country, a mobile tool for visualizing national data, enabling comparisons, studies, and other activities of general interest.

The results

The project received international recognition, winning the Gobierno en Línea award for outstanding initiatives. It also received a World Summit Award in the Government & Citizen Engagement category. These awards highlighted the application's importance and impact on public management by providing high-quality statistical data to researchers, governors, and other stakeholders in Colombia.
